Spoon carving chisels and gouges
Spoon chisels and spoon gouges are ideal tool for scooping out wood from tight curved spaces. Spoon chisels are also called short bent chisels. If you can not reach tight space with straight or bent chisel a spoon chisel might be the best choice.
Wood carving spoon chisels comes in wide variety of sweeps. Spoon chisel sweep 1 has straight (flat) edge. Spoon gouges with sweep 2 - 11 have curved edge. Sweeps 10 and 11 are U-shaped gouges (also called veiners). V-shaped spoon chisels usually comes in angles 45°, 60°, and 90°.
