Finnish leuku knife Wood Jewel Karhuleuku 23KL
A medium-sized traditional Lapland leuku knife. Wood Jewel Karhuleuku is an ideal tool for heavy-duty work, such as building a shelter, chopping wood or game processing. Leuku is a durable and reliabile knife, it is an excellent choice for outdoor activities and bushcraft and hunting.
Carbon steel blade
Wood Jewel Karhuleuku features a 14,5 cm blade made of 80CrV2 carbon steel. With a thickness of 3,3 mm it can handle all outdoor tasks. 80CrV2 carbon steel is known for its extreme toughness and quite good hardness at the same time. Also it is quite easy to sharpen, even in the field. Just like most leuku knives, this particular blade features a scandi grind and a straight back blade profile.
Curly birch handle
Beautiful and ergonomically shaped handle of the Wood Jewel Karhuleuku provides a comfortable grip. Thanks to a combination of curly birch, reindeer antler pommel and brass bolster, handle is not only functional but also very visually appealing.
Knife is accompanied by a high-quality natural leather sheath featuring a belt loop. Sheath ensures the safe storage and carry of the knife but also adds a touch of tradition with its Nordic animal pattern.
Wood Jewel Knives
Wood Jewel is a small manufacturer of traditional scandinavian knives from the Finnish part of Lapland, located in town Kolari, on the far north behind the polar circle. Every Wood Jewel knife is hand made and crafted in a traditional way. Traditionally nordic knives are made from local materials such as scandinavian steel, curly birch wood, reindeer antler and leather. Wood Jewel knives are primarily made of carbon steel, only a few models use stainless steel. Knives from Wood Jewel have classic scandinavian blade geometry, which is ideal for outdoor use.
