Product detailed description
Damascus chef knife Böker Meisterklinge small
Small damascus chef's knifewith a blade length of 14,5 cm. As every other knife from premium kitchen knife serie Meisterklinge Damascus it comes with a first-class appearance, a perfectly balanced handle and an exclusive damascus steel blade.
A chef's knife is one of the most important knives in the kitchen and belongs to the basic equipment of every cook. It differs from utility knife with its wider and longer blade and thin tip, which makes it easy to cut even less pliable ingredients such as nuts or herbs. You can use a chef's knife with its versatile shape to cut all ingredients, whether cutting meat or vegetables.
The secret of extraordinary sharpness lies in a hybrid blade, which combines the best of both worlds. The core of the blade is made of strong and durable japanese VG-10 steel, thanks to which the blade retains its extreme sharpness for a long time. VG-10 cutting core was subsequently inserted under the protective sheath of the multi-layer damascus steel which gives the knife the necessary flexibility, resistance to breakage and, last but not least, an elegant appearance.
The dark handle made of smoked oak wood comes from the local Bergisches Land forests and reinforces the long-standing tradition of Solingen knives. The wood is not only pleasant to the touch, but will give you a secure grip and the balance typical of Böker knives. The perfect look is completed by the noble metal knob at the end of the handle with embedded Boker logo.
No more dull knives in your kitchen. The top quality of Böker Meisterklinge knives is based on DIN and ISO standards, which have become the production standard in Solingen, Germany. Knives boast very high initial sharpness.
Maintenance and cleaning: every single knife deserves special care. Never wash Damascus steel knives in the dishwasher. Hand wash only and dry immediately. Don't forget to rub with oil occasionally. When the knife comes into contact with aggressive elements, spot corrosion could appear on the blade. In any case, the blade of the knife does not rust, but just the attached particles. Never use Japanese steel knives to cut hard and frozen foods. The blade could break, or some part could break off. Avoid any bending or impact of the blade.
Knife sharpening: we advise to use diamond or ceramic sharpening rod for regular maintenance of your VG-10 damascus knives. We also recommend using diamond sharpening stones or whetstones for sharpening. If you are not sure of your sharpening skills, you should definitely contact the professionals.
