Hultafors Splitting axe 900 g is best suited to splitting of fireplace wood. Splitting wood with this axe is much easier thanks to the special shape of the axe head. The splitting effect is huge in relation to the low weight of the axe. Splitting axe is made from hand forged Swedish quality steel in the forge at Hults Bruk, where forging tradition goes as far back as 1697. Steel is stuck several times, increasing steel density and results in great durability of axe head. Edge wiht flat grind is very sharp. Axe head weight is 900 g.
Axe shaft is made from hickory and treated with linseed oil. Hickory wood is highly shock resistant. It excels in absorbing hits without breaking. As such it is perfect material for axe handle.
