Hultafors Wetterhall double bit axe is an impressive tool that you will fall in love with at first sight. Originally, this type of axe was used by woodcutters, who prefered to always have a sharp axe around. While using one side for heavy work, they kept the other side very sharp for light work. Today it is mostly used as throwing axe among enthusiasts throwing competitions. Wetterhall axe is made from hand forged Swedish quality steel in the forge at Hults Bruk, where forging tradition goes as far back as 1697. Forging increases steel density and results in great durability of axe head. Both edges have convex grind, are sharpened, polished and extremely sharp. Head weight is 1600 g.
Hultafors Wetterhall axe shaft is made from hickory and treated with linseed oil. It comes with leather axe sheath. This axe has been named after Bo Wetterhall, the man who served longer than anyone at Hults Bruk.
